About Roman Moroz

Software engineering first. Practical AI where it earns its place.

Software Engineer · AI & Automation Consultant

I’m Roman Moroz, a full-stack and backend software engineer with roughly a decade of professional experience. I’ve worked on mature production systems in a large product organisation, moved quickly in smaller product teams and startups, and built independent products end to end. Today, much of my work sits at the intersection of software engineering, AI products and workflow automation.

Engineering foundation

My background is in full-stack and backend engineering across product software, business systems, APIs, databases, cloud and serverless infrastructure, authentication, payments, integrations and production delivery. That foundation shapes how I approach AI: as part of a complete software system, not as a replacement for engineering.

Building products end to end

Building my own products pushed me further into end-to-end ownership: shaping the product, choosing the architecture, implementing frontend and backend systems, configuring infrastructure, releasing the software and maintaining it after launch.

AI integrations and automation

I began using AI seriously in my development workflow in early 2025, initially as a pair programmer and code generator. That gradually expanded into AI API integrations, product features, workflow automation, RAG and tool-based systems.

AI-assisted and agent-based development

My workflow now also includes coding agents with repository access, durable project context, documentation, MCP and external tools. I’m interested in how these systems help teams build faster without giving up architectural judgment or engineering responsibility.

How I work

I like taking a vague product idea or a repetitive manual process, finding the simplest useful solution and then building the real system around it. Sometimes that solution uses AI; sometimes normal deterministic software is the better decision.

What I’m open to

Open to AI consulting, selected freelance projects, collaborations and relevant full-time AI or software engineering roles.

Outside the code

When I’m not building software, I’m usually playing padel, cycling, picking up a guitar, travelling, or working on another side project that probably started as “just a small experiment.”

Have an AI idea or a process that shouldn’t still be manual?

Tell me what currently takes too much time, involves too much copying between systems, or feels like it should be smarter. I can help figure out whether AI or automation makes sense — and build it if it does.
